The desk is one room in Manchester, New Hampshire, with one person at it, and the mail is read in the order it arrives. Use the form below for anything to do with the notebook: a correction to an entry, a place you think deserves a return visit, or a question about how the site handles data. If you would rather not use a form, write directly to ledger@asmattravels.com and the note lands in exactly the same folder. Postal mail works too, and it is answered on the same schedule as everything else that reaches this address.
Corrections are the most useful thing you can send, and they are treated as work rather than as criticism. Hours change, gravel paths get paved, a covered bridge closes for a season, and an entry written in April can be wrong by August. If you tell me what you saw and roughly when you saw it, I can check the public listing and post a dated correction. That is a better outcome than an entry quietly aging into fiction on a shelf.
The form sends your note to the desk through a form delivery service, and nothing else is done with the address you provide. There is no mailing list attached to it, no forwarding, and no follow-up unless you asked for one. Before you write
A short note works better than a long one, and a specific note works better than either. The topics in the form exist so that your message reaches the right pile on the first pass, and none of them lead anywhere different or slower. Please include the entry title or the town name when you are writing about something already published. A date helps as well, because half the corrections I receive turn on which month somebody stood there.
- About an entry: questions, context, or local knowledge about something already published here.
- A correction: hours, access, closures, or any practical fact that has changed since publication.
- A place to revisit: somewhere within about a day of Manchester that rewards a second visit.
- A privacy request: access, correction, or deletion of your own information, sent to notice@asmattravels.com.
- Something else: syndication questions, copyright notices, and anything the other topics miss.
- Please do not send: pitches for sponsored entries, guest posts, link exchanges, or press kits.

Response times
The desk keeps posted hours of Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Eastern Time. An answer normally goes back within three business days, and corrections are handled the same week they arrive. If a correction needs a return visit before it can be confirmed, the reply will say so and give a rough season rather than a promise. Nothing here is automated, so a slow week of driving can turn into a slow week of mail. There is no queue number, no reference code, and no polite machine writing back to say that your message matters.
Privacy requests go to notice@asmattravels.com and are acknowledged within five business days, with the substantive answer following inside 45 days. Copyright notices should go to ledger@asmattravels.com or to the postal address below, and they are answered within ten business days. Messages that arrive on a Friday afternoon are read on Monday morning, along with the rest of the weekend. There is no phone tree behind the number listed here, only a voicemail box that gets checked during the same posted hours. Written notes are easier to act on than calls, mostly because I can carry them to the place in question.

Two small notes about what this desk cannot do for you. It cannot book, hold, change, or cancel any part of a trip, because Asmat Travels is a notebook and not a travel agency of any kind. It also cannot tell you whether a town office will be open on a holiday weekend, since the town office is the only reliable source on that question. The Disclaimer page explains the rest of that boundary in plainer terms, and the Terms of Use covers the legal shape of it. Hours, closures, and road conditions should always be confirmed with the town or the state before you set out.
Everything else is fair game, including disagreements about whether a place is worth the drive at all. Readers have corrected my arithmetic, my spelling of a river, and my confidence about a gate that had been locked for two years. If you send local knowledge that changes an entry, I will credit you by first name unless you ask me not to. Disagreement is welcome as long as it comes with a month and a location attached to it.
